Rockstarba is a documentary movie about a starsearch format that was bought to Finland by record company Äärilevy Oy. It’s a story of producer Christian von Bischmann and the winners and losers in the contest, their dreams and the harsh reality. The Rockstarba format has already spawned 3 hugely successful bands in it’s originating country Hungary and a lot of success stories in eastern and southern Europe. Now this dream is being brought to reality also in Finland. In the spirit of the 21st century, Christian von Bischmann believes that public starsearch would be the ideal way to find great charismatic musicians to this 80’s style of heavy metal bands. Handicapped with humble resources and plain bad luck, Christian works on with a poorly equipped documentary camera crew following him. After some complicated and colorful auditions Christian has a raw diamond in his hands. Although the road to success is a rocky one, the selected musicians live the rock ’n’ roll life to it’s fullest in their own styles. You know, it’s not easy to cut a diamond. The first part of the Rockstarba trilogy was released on DVD in 2005 and the second part in 2007. The first DVD has been released also as international version with English menus and subtitles (+ Hungarian subtitles). The movies are also available for download in XviD-format (you will need XviD-codec installed to your computer for the movie to work). English subtitles can be downloaded for XviD-version to be used with media player which supports separate movie and subtitle files (e.g. BSplayer) or with dvd-player which supports MPEG4 (DivX or XviD) type of video. We advice to use torrent links listed on torrents-page when ever possible and if you download the movie using some p2p-software, please continue sharing the file after the download completes.
